JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – Emergency departments are searching for an adult woman who has been missing since earlier Thursday.
Officials say the woman went to Rockford Beach in House Springs earlier in the day with a friend, planning to swim. The woman walked away, and it is said that she has not been seen since.
Police and fire departments are completing both land and water searches using drones, SONAR devices, as well as driving and scanning nearby roads.
Crews noted that there is no official confirmation that the woman entered the water. However, officials say the area is a place where people have drowned as there are strong currents.
