ST. LOUIS – A man from Texas was sentenced to prison on Tuesday after harassing his St. Louis-area ex-girlfriends and sending them child pornography.
Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Missouri sentenced Cody D. Brownlow, 41, to 12 years in prison for stalking and child sex abuse material charges.
Prosecutors said in 2022, Brownlow sent threatening text and voice messages to his ex-girlfriend and her adult daughter that included rape threats and messages containing child sexual abuse material. The victims later reported the threat to the FBI.
By April 2023, the FBI had received a court-approved search of Brownlow’s home in Austin, Texas. During the search, cell phones and other electronic devices were found that contained over 1,600 images and 19 videos containing child pornography.
Brownlow pleaded guilty the following month, in May, at the St. Louis U.S. District Court to one count of distribution of child pornography and two counts of stalking.
Prosecutors said during investigation, two more of Brownlow’s ex-girlfriends reported being harassed, threatened and were sent child sexual abuse material. A boyfriend of one of the victim’s also said he was sent child pornography.
