St. Louis County starts sign-up for senior property tax freeze updates

CLAYTON, Mo. — Saint Louis County has launched a sign-up system for updates on the Senior Property Tax Freeze Program. Residents can subscribe via the county’s website.

The program is expected to benefit over 100,000 eligible residents. The application deadline has been extended to June 30, 2025, and additional funding has been approved for staffing.

The Department of Revenue is currently hiring staff and developing software for implementation. Detailed application instructions and a concierge service for seniors will be announced in the coming weeks.

Eligibility criteria include:

Age 62 or older

Property ownership

Primary residence in the property

Responsibility for property tax payments

Claim only one primary residence
