CREVE COEUR, Mo. – Weeks after St. Louis’ lone kosher deli shut down, a new one will emerge in the same location.

Nate’s Kosher Deli will be the new sole kosher restaurant in the city, the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis announced July 25.

The rollout of the new business comes after Kohn’s Kosher Meat and Deli shut down after 60 years of service. The previous kosher deli was faced with a lawsuit recently for nearly $150,000 in unpaid bills.

The new business will undergo a soft launch and operate at the same location as the previous kosher location until a permanent venue is finalized, St. Louis Jewish Light says.

The new deli, located at 10405 Old Olive Street, will open on Thursday, August 8 and will provide a variety of services, including butchery, dine-in options, and take-out options.

Avi Rosenberg, who previously served as the Director of Operations at Simply Sushi Kosher Restaurant, will be the restaurant’s owner. Rosenberg will relocate to St. Louis to oversee operations at the deli.
