Mike Kehoe is leading the Republican nomination for Missouri governor, which could set up an election versus Quade as the Democratic candidate this fall. The Missouri Governor’s Office has been run by Republican leadership since 2017, though it’s been split nearly half-and-half between the GOP and Democratic party since the turn to the 21st century.
Kehoe became lieutenant governor in 2018 after Parson was appointed governor, following the resignation of Eric Greitens. Kehoe had earned endorsements from outgoing governor Mike Parson ahead of the primary, in addition to several public safety and agricultural groups.
