Webster Groves superintendent retiring after 20 years

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. – The superintendent of the Webster Groves School District announced that he will be saying goodbye at the end of the 2024–2025 school year.

Dr. John Simpson has been with Webster Groves School District for 20 years but has spent nearly 30 years in education.

“Upon arriving as the principal at Hudson Elementary and as an employee of the WGSD 20 years ago, it truly felt like I had ‘found my people’ in this incredibly challenging, important, and fulfilling work,” Simpson said in a release. “Thank you for all you do as families and community members to help care for each child of this community.”

The school district stated that he is “leaving behind a legacy of commitment and passion for the district’s students and community.”

Webster Groves School District said they will begin the process of searching for a replacement soon.
