EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – At least one person is dead and others may be hurt after a shooting overnight outside of an east St. Louis bar.

The shooting happened a little after midnight Wednesday outside of the DaBlitz Sports Bar and Grill on Ninth Street, near Exchange Avenue and Interstates 55 and 70.

When police received the call, there were reports of a triple shooting. There was a sizable police presence, as both East St. Louis police and Illinois police were at the scene. There were at least 40 evidence markers at the scene, which typically indicate evidence like shell casings.

When arriving on the scene, Fox 2 found one person dead in the street here, outside of the establishment. Another person came out on a stretcher and was taken into an ambulance but then that person got out of the ambulance.

It appears that the deceased and the person who got out of the ambulance were both males. There could be others suffering from injuries from the shooting as well.

At this point, police have not released details on what exactly happened in the shooting. There is also no word on any suspects.

This is a developing story. Fox 2 will provide more details once information comes into the newsroom.
