ST. LOUIS — Several organizations are helping animals find new homes, especially after the recent rains that caused significant setbacks.
St. Clair County, particularly in Belleville, experienced severe flooding, affecting St. Clair County Animal Services. Many dogs were chest-deep in water, but volunteers and rescue organizations managed to save them. Organizations like Belleville Area Humane Society and others have stepped up, taking in numerous dogs.
Among the rescued dogs is Empress, who was tied to a fence last week, severely underweight but otherwise healthy. She will be available for adoption soon. The rescue organization is continually looking for people to foster and adopt these animals. Currently, all the flood dogs are up for adoption, and they are seeking more fosters.
