ALTON, Ill. – Tuesday’s weather claimed the lives of an elderly Illinois couple from Alton.
The Jersey County Sheriff’s Department reports that the woman’s body was discovered inside a submerged vehicle on Beltrees Road.
The man’s body was found a quarter mile away along the Bank of Mill Creek.
The man who reported the incident was rescued from the top of his vehicle when authorities arrived on the scene.
