Man convicted of shooting three at Lemay fireworks event in 2021

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A man was convicted after shooting three people at a Lemay fireworks gathering in south St. Louis County in 2021.

The St. Louis County Circuit Court convicted Donald Meek, 29, of three counts of assault and three counts of armed criminal action.

The shooting happened on July 5, 2021, it the 300 block of Goetz Avenue.

Police say that Meek knowingly caused physical injury to three people after he pulled a handgun out during an altercation, which coincided with a fireworks gathering to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Meek faces up to 15 years in prison. He has a sentencing hearing scheduled for Friday, September 13.
