ST. LOUIS – Free Slurpee day is coming soon to a 7-Eleven near you. The chain will offer a free small Slurpee drink to anyone who visits on Thursday, July 11.
It’s part of a longtime tradition through which 7-Eleven recognizes the date of numerical significance: Its birthday of July 11, which is often abbreviated as 7/11.
According to 7-Eleven’s website, the company has offered free Slurpees to customers on July 11 each year since 2002 in celebration of its birthday. “We have given our customers a FREE Slurpee drink on 7/11 to thank them for their loyal patronage and continued support,” says 7-Eleven.
To score your free drink, simply visit a 7-Eleven location near you and fill up one small cup with a Slurpee flavor of your choice and bring it to the checkout counter. There is a limit of one free small cup per customer per visit. No other purchases are necessary.
7-Eleven is also encouraging people to download its app and create a 7REWARDS account. You can show proof of your rewards on Thursday at checkout to redeem a voucher for an extra free small Slurpee that can be redeemed later in July.
7-Eleven will celebrate its 97th birthday this year on July 11th. The company was originally founded as an icehouse storefront in Dallas, Texas in 1927 and rebranded as 7-Eleven in 1947. 7-Eleven then introduced the Slurpee drink in 1966.
