Man, dog shot during argument in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – A suspect shot a man and a dog early Wednesday morning in north St. Louis as an argument escalated.

The shooting happened around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 5300 block of Labadie Avenue in St. Louis’ Kingshighway West neighborhood.

Investigators say the victim was involved in an argument over a car with a suspect known to him. The suspect reportedly fired multiple shots, striking the victim in the leg and the dog in the paw.


Affton Fire Captain James Cova found dead at station

The victim was treated for injuries at a hospital and is now in stable condition. The dog, who belonged to a relative of the victim, was rushed to a veterinarian hospital for treatment.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is handling the investigation. No arrests have been reported as of Wednesday afternoon.
