ST. LOUIS – An arrest warrant was issued Monday for a St. Louis man who caused a collision in fall 2023 while driving drunk.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the crash happened on Sept. 23, 2023, in the 3500 block of Hampton Avenue in the city’s Northampton neighborhood.

Police said James R. Connolly, now 73, was driving a 2019 Honda CRV when he turned in front of a 2013 Dodge Charger, causing a collision. The driver in the Charger suffered serious physical injury.

Police said an analysis of Connolly’s blood determined he had a BAC of 0.231, nearly three times the legal limit.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Connolly with second-degree assault, armed criminal action, and driving while intoxicated. Upon arrest, Connolly will be jailed without bond.
