ST. LOUIS — The Whitaker Summer Concert Series is offering free family events open to the community. The first two shows were held on June 6 and 13, but if you missed those, there are two more coming up this month.

On June 20, the series will feature the Whitney Houston Catalog, performed by Cheryl Brown with Jeremiah Allen as the music director. The next concert will be a Tina Turner Tribute on June 27, featuring hits such as “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” performed by Kenya Last and music director Terry Coleman.

New Illinois laws go into effect on July 1, including driver’s licenses for noncitizens

The concert series will take place at St. Louis Place Park, located between 21st St. and Rauschenbach, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Affinia Healthcare will be at the park, providing free health screenings, including A1C, blood pressure, and HIV testing. Food trucks and other refreshments will be available for purchase.

Additionally, there will be Summer Concert Series After Parties at Rouge Bistro in Midtown.
