Large tree falls on busy street of Central West End

ST. LOUIS – A large tree fell Tuesday afternoon on a busy street of the Central West End neighborhood, blocking traffic as crews work to remove it.

Witnesses tell FOX 2 the tree fell just after the start of the noon hour Tuesday on Newstead Avenue, just south of Lindell Boulevard.


Mystery credit card charges for downtown parking explained

No injuries have been reported from the fallen tree. It appears to be blocking traffic in both direction of Newstead Avenue.

It’s unclear what caused the tree to fall at this time. Crews are responding to the matter.
