Charges filed in Florissant stabbing

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis woman was charged for a stabbing that happened last week in Florissant.

According to the Florissant Police Department’s probable cause statement, the incident took place on Thursday, May 16. A more specific location was not offered by law enforcement.

Police claim Diamond Sykes (age not provided) was at the victim’s residence when the victim asked Sykes to leave. Sykes refused to leave, grabbed a knife, and began slashing and stabbing at the victim.

The victim suffered a large slash wound to his chin and neck and a wound on his left arm.

Sykes fled the house and escaped.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Sykes with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. A judge signed an arrest warrant for Sykes on May 20 and set a $100,000 cash-only bond. Sykes already has a pending case for an April 2021 assault on a police officer.
