Much needed wet weather break Wednesday; Storms return Thursday

ST. LOUIS — A River Runs Through It, a Brad Pitt movie or your backyard last night? Wow! While not severe, many of Tuesday’s storms were efficient rain makers. Many area streams and creeks filled quickly and rained high and fast, but, thankfully, they stayed in their banks.

We will get a break from the rain on Wednesday. Spots of fog early with wake up temperatures in the 50s. Cloudy skies becoming partly cloudy Wednesday, highs in the mid 70s. Tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy, overnight temperatures dip to around 60.

The chance for rain and storms to return to the area on Thursday. Scattered storms are expected by midday. Highs in the low to mid 70s. The chance for storms will continue Thursday night and Friday. The weekend looks warmer, highs in the mid 80s, with just a slight chance of an afternoon pop shower or storm.
