PACIFIC, Mo. – Investigators with the Pacific Police Department believe two people found dead in a home Monday afternoon are a mother and son.

According to a police spokesperson, officers arrived at a residence in the 70 block of Cedar Ridge Drive around 1:45 p.m.

A family member told police they went to the home after several failed attempts to get hold of someone at the residence. They went inside the home, made the discovery, and called 911.

On Tuesday, police identified the female victim as 56-year-old Mary Gan. The other dead person was not named, but police said he was a 26-year-old male family member believed to be Gan’s son.

Investigators claim Gan was shot to death, while the unidentified male died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation remains ongoing.
