VALLEY PARK, Mo. – A man faces felony charges after a stabbing Tuesday in west St. Louis County, during which he allegedly stated it was “a good day to slice someone” before the stabbing.
Prosecutors have charged Patrick Leutzinger, 38, with one count of first-degree assault and armed criminal action in connection with the investigation.
Leutzinger is accused of stabbing a man just before 10 a.m. Tuesday on Cheryl Lane.
According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, witnesses heard Leutzinger make a statement that it was “a good day to slice someone” while he was holding a knife. Moments later, one man was stabbed, and he suffered serious injuries.
Other people at the home reportedly ran away and hid from Leutzinger.
As police responded to the scene, they found a knife suspected in the stabbing inside the building. Leutzinger was arrested a short time later, and investigators learned he was known to the victim.
The St. Louis County Police Department is handling the investigation. Leutzinger is jailed in St. Louis County on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
