ST. LOUIS — The ThurtenE Carnival, Washington University in St. Louis‘ long-standing tradition, has been canceled for Sunday, April 21, citing concerns for crowd safety. This decision was made by the university administration following altercations at the carnival on Saturday, April 20.

The carnival closed early on Saturday evening, and as a precautionary measure, the remainder of the event has been canceled.

ThurtenE, the oldest and largest student-run carnival in the nation, has been a tradition for WashU and the St. Louis community for over a century.
