St. Charles’ Main Street named among ‘America’s Most Charming’

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A city’s Main Street is often considered a vibrant hub of community, business and tradition. New research touts St. Charles Main Street and others in Missouri among “America’s Most Charming.”

Mixbook, a photography gift website, recently released rankings of “America’s 100 Most Charming Main Streets.”

A Mixbook research team surveyed 3,000 seasoned travelers to determine which Main Streets across the United States had the most appeal. “The results not only highlight the beauty and character of these streets but also bring well-deserved attention to the gems that many Americans may not be aware of,” said Mixbook.


Severe storms Thursday may bring hail and high winds

According to the rankings, St. Charles Main Street was considered the 84th “most charming” among U.S. competitors. Mixbook also recognized Branson (60th) and Parkville (68th) in Missouri for having charming Main Streets.

Main Streets considered in the rankings were ones that commonly offered historic buildings, walkability, and a strong local shopping atmosphere.

The “most charming” U.S. Main Street, according to Mixbook, belongs to Charleston, South Carolina.
