Rare pink volcanic vortex rings seen spewing from Italy’s Mount Etna

Rare pink volcanic vortex rings were seen spewing out of Italy’s Mount Etna volcano. Such an occurrence can only happen when gas bubbles release gas quickly and from a specifically shaped vent, researchers say.
