CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Cardinals fans can watch the eclipse with one of their favorites. Adam Wainwright and his band are performing during the eclipse at a drive-in just outside of Cape Girardeau.

Since retiring from baseball, the former Cardinals ace focused on getting his music career rolling. His first album, “Hey Y’all,” debuted last week; now, he’s taking his show on the road to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Drive-In, located directly in the path of totality of Monday’s eclipse.

Chuck Stratton, owner of the drive-in, said Wainwright is excited about his budding music career.

“I don’t think he wants to be an everyday full-time musician,” Stratton said. “He wants to play 10 to 15 shows a year because we talked the other day and he said, ‘I want to stay married.’”

Stratton said he’s still getting calls and selling tickets to people from across the country. Gates open at 9 a.m. at the drive-in, with meet and greet tickets still available.
