CHICAGO — All DMV facilities across the country are experiencing a nationwide network outage Thursday.
Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias posted an advisory on “X,” saying: “We are currently experiencing a nationwide network outage at our DMV facilities. All DMVs across the country are currently down.”
The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.
The secretary of state is advising to call ahead before you visit any DMV, at: 800-252-8980. Giannoulias also said the outage may impact operating hours or services, including road tests.
