ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A sergeant with the St. Louis County Police Department is currently suspended without pay for allegedly claiming overtime for hours he did not work.

Police claim Sgt. David Ryan, 51, scheduled himself to work on Nov. 23, 2023 (Thanksgiving), and Jan. 1, 2024 (New Year’s Day), but did not show up and collected holiday overtime pay anyway.

According to a county police spokeswoman, Ryan works as a supervisor at the St. Louis County Courts and Justice Center. On Thanksgiving, Ryan was allegedly in Branson, Missouri. He spent his New Year’s Day elsewhere in the St. Louis area.
