JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – One of the leading candidates for Missouri Secretary of State drops his bid in the race.
Missouri State Sen. Caleb Rowden says he’s dropping out of the race due to a crowded GOP primary and deep divides in Missouri politics.
Other Republicans in the race include state Sen. Denny Hoskins of Warrensburg, State Rep. Adam Schwadron of St. Charles and political newcomer Valentina Gomez of St. Louis.
Kirkwood representative Barbara Phifer is the lone Democrat campaigning for secretary of state.
