ST. LOUIS – A new burger experience is coming soon to Lambert Airport. Preparations are underway for a sit-down Shake Shack.

Crews are working to build the new Shake Shack restaurant at the airport’s Southwest Airlines terminal. Its opening date remains to be determined.

The airport plans to welcome Shake Shack into spaces that Burger King and California Pizza Kitchen previously occupied.

“This marks a strategic move towards consolidating two smaller restaurant spaces into a larger, unified unit,” said Robert Salarano, Airport Properties Division Manager. “The decision is not merely about changing the culinary landscape but also about creating operational efficiencies.”

Upon opening, the airport’s Shake Shack location would be the company’s sixth in the St. Louis area.

“Shake Shack; known for its burger, hot dogs, fries and shakes, bring an established system that ensures quick service and the delivery of top-notch food,” said Salarano.

Crews are also working to expand Starbucks services around the upcoming Shake Shack grounds. Pei Wei and Midtown Cafe Specialty Coffee are also in the works in Terminal II.

These changes and more are detailed in Lambert Airport’s 2023 STL Annual Report, which was publicly released Monday.
