O’FALLON, Mo. – Friday was a day for clean-up after Thursday’s hail during severe storms left damage throughout St. Charles County.
In O’Fallon, Magic Body Auto Shop captured video showing hail pummeling cars, leaving behind significant damage to windshields, side mirrors, antennas, and more.
“It was so loud, so much going down,” Charlie Pokorny, employee at the auto shop, said. “In that seven minutes, it did thousands of dollars in damage.”
Weather reports say hail reached up to the size of golf balls in the area.
“All of the sudden, it was this baseball size (hail) that start flying down…and there’s just nothing you can do,” Pokorny said.
Roofing companies were busy at work helping customers.
“The phones have been ringing off the hook. They haven’t stopped,” Kathy Wilson from Auchly Roofing said.
It is recommended for homeowners to inspect their houses for any damaged shingles or gutters and file an insurance claim if needed.
