Emergency Alert – Tornado warnings issued across St. Louis region

ST. LOUIS – The National Weather Service – St. Louis has issued a tornado warning for select counties in the region for the next hour.

St. Louis, St. Charles, and Calhoun (Illinois) counties are under a tornado warning until 5:15 p.m. Jefferson County is under a warning until 4:45 p.m. Meteorologists have issued a tornado warning for Warren County until 4:30 p.m.

Residents in these areas are advised to take shelter in a basement or interior room until the warning ends.

The NWS alert reads as follows: “Emergency Alert. National Weather Service: TORNADO WARNING in this area until 5:15 PM CDT. Take shelter now in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flyer debris. Check media.”
