MERRITT ISLAND, Fla.- If you’ve ever dreamed of going to space, now is the chance to do so.

NASA is offering an opportunity in an upcoming mission to have a part of you go to the moon: your name.

VIPER is the space agency’s first robotic moon rover, which will “embark on a mission to the lunar South Pole region to trek into permanently shadowed areas and unravel the mysteries of the Moon’s water,” according to NASA.

Information and data collected over the 100-day mission could lead to the exploration of sustaining human life on the moon and Mars.

Once names are collected, an electron beam will etch them onto a dime-size microchip that is attached to the rover.

The deadline to submit your name for the mission is Friday, March 15, at 6:59 p.m. CST. Those who submit their name receive a personalized souvenir boarding pass.

The rover is scheduled for launch for later this year.
