CHICAGO (WMBD) – One lucky mom in Illinois is $1.4 million richer after matching all five numbers in the Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing on March 6.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she learned she won after she had trouble falling back to sleep after her baby woke her up.
“My baby woke up crying, and after tucking them back into bed, I had trouble falling back asleep,” the winner said. “So to pass the time, I opened the lottery app on my phone, and I couldn’t believe it when it showed that I had just won $1.4 million! – absolutely wackadoodle.”
The stay-at-home mom said she got lucky by using her kid’s birthdays as her lucky numbers.
“After I won, I asked my husband – ‘Do you want to know which kid’s birthday helped us win the jackpot?’,” she said.
So far this month, 550,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets have been sold, totaling more than $3 million in prizes.
