ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Zoo’s first ever lantern festival starts today. “Animals Aglow” will illuminate the zoo this spring with more than 60 larger-than-life Chinese lanterns and interactive light displays shaped like plants and wildlife.
This first-ever event will feature a Chinese Dragon Corridor tunnel, giant glowing animals, and interactive displays such as Moonlight Swings and Star Stepping Pads. Scheduled from March 13 to May 5, 2024, the festival will be open from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays.
The event aims to celebrate wildlife, Chinese culture, and lantern artistry, including access to the Emerson Dinoroarus exhibit and nightly Chinese cultural performances. It is created in partnership with Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc., featuring handcrafted lanterns adorned with LED lights and colorful silks.
Ticket prices range from $16.95 to $23.95, and there is a special sensory-friendly night on April 7.
