ST. LOUIS – A committee of St. Louis aldermen is reviewing a plan Monday to fund the St. Louis Convention Center.
The city invested federal money from the “American Rescue Plan Act” in 2021. Top city leaders recommend using more than $15 million in interest earned from that account to pay for convention center projects.
The expansion at America’s Center was first pitched in 2018, including a new ballroom and pavilion and 92,000 square feet of new exhibit space. Political infighting between St. Louis City and the county and the COVID pandemic caused delays.
