This historic blizzard that will dump massive amounts of snow on the west coast is also expected to bring hurricane-force winds along with it. Winds ranging from 70 to 100 mph will cause significant drifting snow as well as white-out conditions.

The National Weather Service in Sacramento is calling for “extremely dangerous to impossible travel.”

Winds as strong as this will create a widespread range of problems, including downed trees and power lines, as well as power outages.
