JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – One man is dead after a shooting Thursday in Jefferson County that stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Authorities responded to the 800 block of Matthews Drive, just south of Fenton, around 6 p.m. Thursday after reports of a shooting.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but he later died from his injuries. Investigators have not disclosed the victim’s name or age.
The alleged shooter is in custody, and Jefferson County deputies say there is no threat to the public.
Authorities have not yet disclosed what exactly led up to the shooting, but say it stems from a domestic dispute. Detectives are interviewing the alleged shooter and potential witnesses.
