Teen hurt in Bridgeton hit-and-run crash; suspect charged

BRIDGETON, Mo. – A teenager was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash Tuesday evening in Bridgeton. Authorities have arrested a suspect accused in the collision.

Prosecutors have charged Antonio Corona, 38, with one felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident.

The collision happened just before 7 p.m. Tuesday near a Mobil gas station in the 1200 block of Natural Bridge Road.

Investigators say Corona was heading eastbound on Natural Bridge Road when he struck a 14-year-old boy crossing the street. Corona reportedly drove away from the scene after the collision.

The victim was rushed to a hospital and treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Corona is jailed in St. Louis County on a $50,000 bond.

The Bridgeton Police Department is asking anyone with additional information relevant to the investigation to contact their department at 314-373-3845.
