ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Maryland Heights man has been charged in connection with a 2022 burglary of a local appliance store.

According to the Maryland Heights Police Department’s probable cause statement, officers responded to a burglary call on Aug. 16, 2022, at Roth Living Installation on Fairgrove Industrial Boulevard.

Store management told police the warehouse’s garage bay door was found open and several items, along with a company truck and trailer, had been stolen.

Investigators reviewed nearby surveillance video, which showed a man entering the warehouse and taking the truck and trailer.

Police claim Brian McDevitt and his girlfriend were later identified as using the stolen truck in a burglary in St. Louis City.

Police went to the home of McDevitt’s girlfriend’s father and found the stolen trailer on his property. The father explained that McDevitt asked if he could leave the trailer there for a while and offered him a new box dishwasher as compensation. The dishwasher was reported as stolen property from Roth Living Installation.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged McDevitt with second-degree burglary, stealing a motor vehicle, and stealing – $750 or more. The circuit court issued a summons for McDevitt to appear in court on March 25 to enter a plea.
