ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities recently arrested a woman accused of stealing $6,000 from a bank in north St. Louis County. Investigators say fingerprints on a note she handed to the teller paved the way for her arrest.

Prosecutors have charged Akia Pope, 27, with one felony count of stealing or attempting to steal from a financial institution.

The bank robbery happened around 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 10 in the 7300 block of West Florissant Avenue.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, a suspect entered a bank and handed a note to the teller requesting all of the money in their drawer. The teller emptied the drawer and handed the suspect thousands of dollars.

Investigators did not report any use of weapons, nor any injuries from the robbery. The St. Louis County Police Department reviewed surveillance video after the incident, which also helped in identifying Pope as the suspect.

Pope is jailed in St. Louis County on a $75,000 cash-only bond.
