Body found in the Missouri River near Hermann

HERMANN, Mo. – An investigation is underway after a body was found Sunday in the Missouri River near Hermann.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that one victim’s body was found nearly one mile downstream from Hermann.

At an undisclosed time on Sunday, a fisherman alerted authorities to the scene. MSHP troopers responded and retrieved the body of a deceased man from the river.

MSHP has not yet disclosed the victim’s identity or age. Authorities are working to notify family members. It’s unclear what led up to the victim’s death at this time.

MSHP Troop F, which covers parts of rural Missouri just west of St. Louis, is investigating the death.
