Gunfire after two drivers chase each other in St. Charles, one arrested

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Authorities say two drivers chased each other on the streets of St. Charles late Monday evening, eventually leading to gunfire. One of the two drivers was later arrested.

The St. Charles Police Department reports that a 21-year-old man from St. Louis County, who apparently drove a Dodge Charger, was arrested after the gunfire.

Around 9:45 p.m. Monday, investigators say two cars chased each other near the 1600 block of Beale Street. Occupants fired an undisclosed number of shots, but at least one gunshot struck a nearby apartment.

Police arrested one man driving a black Dodge Charger near the scene of the gunfire. The other driver took off from the scene, possibly driving a small gray sedan.

The St. Charles County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case and could file charges in the upcoming days.
