MARSHALL, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV)– A Missouri woman faces several charges after crashing into an Illinois State Police squad car on I-70 on Friday.

According to a release from ISP, a trooper was outside of their vehicle, investigating a weather-related crash near mile marker 151 just after 5:30 p.m. That’s when 32-year-old Tiffany Paige Henderson failed to move over, and struck the vehicle on the shoulder. No injuries were reported.

Henderson is being charged with violating the Move Over Law, among other charges. Also known as “Scott’s Law,” it requires all drivers in Illinois to move over and slow down when approaching an emergency vehicle, or any vehicle with its hazard lights on. A driver’s first violation can result in a fine between $250 and $10,000.

This is the 5th Move Over Law-related crash so far this year in Illinois. In 2023, there were 23 such crashes.
