ST. LOUIS – Police are searching for three suspects who apparently carjacked a woman sleeping in a parked car Thursday morning in St. Louis.
The incident unfolded around 3:30 a.m. in St. Louis’ West End neighborhood, in the 1100 block of Hodiamont Avenue.
Investigators say three people, believed to be teenagers in dark clothing, awoke a 32-year-old woman sleeping in her car and immediately tried to enter the vehicle. At some point, all three suspects flashed a gun. They allegedly ordered the victim out of the car and onto the ground, and the victim complied.
The suspects took off in the victim’s 2021 Toyota Camry and also took her cell phone. St. Louis police later tracked her phone and found it a few blocks away form the carjacking.
The victim was not hurt, though police have not disclosed if the car has been recovered or if any arrests were made in the investigation.
