One charged, another accused of Stanley cup tumbler thefts in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – One woman faces a felony charge, and another person is accused after they reportedly stole dozens of Stanley cup tumblers from a Chesterfield retailer.

St. Louis County prosecutors have charged Dakalynn Davis Hinson with one count of stealing in excess of $750.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, Hinson and another person entered a Dick’s Sporting Goods store and discovered 25 Stanley cup tumblers with a combined value of nearly $1,100. They both allegedly placed the tumblers in backpacks and left the store without paying.

A manager noticed the theft and took a picture of a license plate linked to the two apparent thieves. After that, the manager was able to identify Hinson through a photo lineup.

The Stanley cup tumblers are a stainless-steel drinking container that comes in several sizes ranging from 14 ounces to 64 ounces. They gained notoriety after several TikTok videos and have been in big demand with hefty prices since the start of the 2024 year.

If convicted, Hinson could face up to seven years in prison of $10,000 in fines under Missouri law.
