Bills to require St. Louis City and County to reimburse St. Charles County

ST. LOUIS – A St. Charles lawmaker wants money from St. Louis City and County.

State Representative Phil Christofanelli has filed a bill to require St. Louis City and County to reimburse St. Charles County every time anyone from the city or county is held in the St. Charles County jail. He says that half of the jail inmates come from St. Louis City or County.

The bill says it costs St. Charles County more than $100 a day to hold each inmate.
