ST. LOUIS — An overturned school bus is causing major delays on westbound I-44 near Grand Avenue in south St. Louis.
The crash happened at around 8:30 a.m. There were three vehicles involved in the collision. The St. Louis Public Schools tell FOX 2 that this is one of their buses.
At least one person was trapped on the bus after the crash. FOX 2 reporter Laura Simon witnessed several people being taken to an ambulance by a stretcher.
Two people were taken to the hospital after the crash. The extent of their injuries is not known right now.
The interstate is currently closed. The Missouri Department of Transportation expects the highway to be closed for at least an hour. Traffic is backed up in the area. Check our traffic map for real-time traffic conditions.
