Body found in decomposed state in south St. Louis home

ST. LOUIS – An investigation is underway after authorities found a man’s body in a decomposed state Monday in a south St. Louis home.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has not identified the victim by name or age, but notes the discovery is part of a “suspicious death” investigation.

Officers responded to a call for a “sudden death” around 10 a.m. Monday in the 7800 block of Rio Silva Place, located in the city’s Carondelet neighborhood.

When police arrived, they found the victim inside a home “in a state of decomposition,” according to a SLMPD crime summary report.

It’s unclear what led up to the victim’s death. Police have not yet identified any potential suspects.
