ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Florissant man remains jailed for allegedly shooting someone outside a local IHOP restaurant.
The shooting took place on February 4 around 1:45 a.m. at the IHOP on North Highway 67 in Florissant, according to a probable cause statement from the Florissant Police Department.
Police claim the victim walked outside the IHOP and got into an argument with Curtis Howard. At some point, Howard pulled a gun from his waistband and shot the victim in the abdomen.
Howard allegedly gave the firearm to a friend and fled. Police found the gun in St. Louis City on February 5.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital and had surgery to remove part of his small intestine.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the IHOP prior to making an arrest.
Police claim Howard admitted to shooting the victim.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Howard (age not provided) with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. A judge set Howard’s bond at $250,000, cash only.
