If you haven’t heard yet, the Illinois Tollway’s new I-PASS stickers are now available.

Here are 5 common questions, with answers, you may have about the new stickers:

Where can I get my new I-PASS sticker?

Either online or in person at one of three places. They can be ordered at getipass.com, where you can also open I-PASS accounts, register license plate numbers and pay invoices. Or, you can purchase an I-PASS sticker at Jewel-Osco stores, Road Ranger stores and Illinois Tollway customer service centers.

How much will my new I-PASS sticker cost?

They are free of charge if ordered online or purchased at an Illinois Tollway customer service center. A retail service fee will be required if purchased at a Jewel-Osco or Road Ranger store. Remember, you must have an activated I-PASS account to use the stickers.

What do I do with my old I-PASS transponder?

Right now, nothing if you don’t want to. Working transponders can still be used until they expire. However, if you get a sticker now and want to ditch your transponder, click HERE to find out where you can recycle it. Additionally, the $10 transponder deposit will be transferred onto current I-PASS customers’ prepaid toll account balances once a new I-PASS sticker is registered to the account.

Can I transfer my I-PASS sticker to different vehicles?

No. The rule is one sticker tag per vehicle, permanently installed to the windshield. And it’s a sticker, so no batteries required.

Will my I-PASS sticker work in other states?

Yes. Once registered to your I-PASS account, the sticker will be immediately ready to use on the Illinois Tollway, the Chicago Skyway and other E-ZPass roadways. The E-ZPass Group comprises toll entities across 19 states. Click HERE for a map of states offering E-ZPass services.
