Illinois State Police make DUI arrest in fatal bike collision

NASHVILLE, Ill. – The Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office charged an Illinois man in connection with a DUI crash that killed a bicyclist.

According to an Illinois State Police statement, the crash happened on Aug. 8, 2023, on Oakdale Blacktop Road.

The bicyclist, Randy Love, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office asked state troopers to handle the investigation.

Authorities eventually tied Corey Minemann, 36, to the crash.

On Monday, a Washington County judge issued an arrest warrant for Minemann on two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless homicide. State troopers took Minemann into custody on Tuesday in Randolph County.
