JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – It was a record-breaking 2023 deer hunting season in Missouri, surpassing the state’s previous record.
More than 326,000 deer were harvested this season. Hunters in Franklin County got nearly 7,400 deer.
Jefferson County hunters had the most during bow season, at 1,400. The Missouri Department of Conservation says it distributed more permits this year for early antlerless hunting to help reduce chronic waste disease.
